Reset Call Forwarding to Voicemail on AT&T
Voicemail for most mobile phone carriers (for sure AT&T) use a conditional call forwarding number (not your own number). If you change it, the easiest fix is to reset it:
Dial this reset code:
- ##004#
- Press the call button
✅ This cancels all conditional forwarding (busy, no answer, unreachable) and restores forwarding back to your voicemail number automatically.
Manual Setup (if needed)
If ##004# doesn’t restore it, you can re-enter the voicemail forwarding number:
- Go to Phone app > ⋮ (menu) > Settings > Supplementary services > Call forwarding.
- You’ll see options like:
• Forward when busy
• Forward when unanswered
• Forward when unreachable - Set each of those to your AT&T voicemail access number.
👉 The voicemail number varies by region, but for AT&T most devices just need you to enter your own mobile number (the system will route it to voicemail). If it doesn’t accept that, the voicemail deposit number usually starts with +1 followed by your area’s AT&T voicemail gateway. If you are unsure about the number, you will need to call AT&T to get it. But with these instructions you now know where to set it.
Quick Check
After resetting:
- Call your own number from another phone.
- Decline the call.
- It should now forward to your voicemail greeting. Now you should be working back to normal.
